In an attempt to ensure that the study meets the needs of the various stakeholders, the research team organized a reconnaissance survey and stakeholder consultation exercise to seek their concerns and also to inform them about the relevance of the project. Stakeholders consulted in this exercise include Chiefs, Assemblymen, Forestry staff, Quarry staff and Agricultural extension officers. The team also took advantage of this opportunity to identify and mobilize various local resources that may be relevant for the study. The community leaders were very happy about the project and have therefore fixed a date for the teams to meet with members of the community to brief them on the project. The extension officer also expressed much interest in the introduction of biochar in the community and was optimistic it will help to significantly boost agricultural productivity. With the reception we received from the community we anticipate a very impactful end with this project with maximum benefits to the various stakeholders.
